Who are we ?

The Odette Roy Fombrun Foundation

Created in 2007 by our national icon, Mrs. Odette Roy Fombrun and her five (5) children : Marie-Alice Fombrun, Marie-Claude, Jacques Fombrun, Daniel Fombrun, and Charles Fombrun, the Odette Roy Fombrun Foundation for Education (FORF) is a non-profit organization whose objective is to promote education and training of youth; to foster the economic and social development of Haitian communities through the practice of the participatory, collaborative and supportive philosophy of Konbitism advocated by Mrs. Fombrun.

Our Mission

Contribute to the promotion of Haiti’s historical, cultural and natural heritage through awareness, education and citizen involvement.

Strategies of the FORF 

Identify, finance and support promising projects that meet the following criteria:
Education: Which contribute to the formation of responsible citizens;
Heritage: Highlighting Haiti’s unique contributions to the world;
Promotion: Promote the beauty, history, and culture of Haiti;
Development: Contribute to the improvement of socio-economic conditions;
Konbitism: Encourages cooperation and solidarity.

Note that :
• The projects selected by FORF must be presented by a project leader and have relevant partners for the implementation of these projects.

Our Founder

Mrs Fombrun

The Founder of FORF, Odette Roy Fombrun, was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on June 13, 1917. She is a prolific author whose numerous books and articles have a dual purpose: education and the development of Haiti. Mrs. Fombrun has received numerous awards. In 2009, she was awarded the title of “Living National Treasure” by the Fondation Françoise Canez Auguste and Image et Marketing S.A.; the title of “Woman of Merit” by the DEFI Foundation; and the movement “Aimer Haïti” recognizes her for her fight for national unity through Konbitisme.
